Ingredients

  • 500g lamb shoulder, cut into cubes
  • 500g Greek yogurt
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon chopped oregano
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
  • salt and pepper to taste

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a bowl, mix together the yogurt, eggs, and flour until smooth. Set aside.
  3. In a large ovenproof dish, melt the butter over medium heat.
  4. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook until softened.
  5. Add the lamb cubes and oregano, and cook until browned on all sides.
  6. Season with salt, pepper, and chopped fresh dill.
  7. Pour the yogurt mixture over the lamb in the dish.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the yogurt topping is set and lightly golden.
  9. Serve hot, accompanied by crusty bread or rice.
